Grrranola

Grrranola was built for dogs who deserve a treat that actually does something. Oats form the hearty, fiber-rich base — slow-burning energy, heart health support, and digestive regularity all rolled into one humble grain. Milled flax seed layers in plant-based omega-3s and the world's highest concentration of lignans, delivering a visibly shinier coat and science-backed anti-inflammatory support with every bite.

Peanut butter brings protein, healthy fats, and the kind of flavor that makes even the pickiest dogs pay attention — and we use only xylitol-free peanut butter, always. Molasses adds natural sweetness alongside a genuine mineral payload: iron, calcium, magnesium, and B vitamins. Turmeric works quietly in the background, contributing anti-inflammatory curcumin to an already functional recipe. And egg ties it all together as a clean, natural binder and complete protein source.

Six ingredients. Every one pulling its weight.

Oats

Oats are a nutritional powerhouse for dogs — and the backbone of this recipe. Their rich soluble fiber content, particularly beta-glucan, supports digestive regularity, helps prevent constipation and bloating, and feeds beneficial gut bacteria. That same beta-glucan is also well-studied for its cholesterol-reducing and cardiovascular support properties, promoting healthy blood flow and heart function. Oats provide a slow-burning, sustained energy source — ideal for active dogs — without the blood sugar spike of refined grains. They're also loaded with antioxidants called avenanthramides that help reduce inflammation and support healthy blood pressure. Rich in B vitamins, iron, magnesium, and zinc, oats deliver broad nutritional value in every bite.

milled flax seed

Milled Flax Seed

Milled flax seed is one of the richest plant-based sources of omega-3 fatty acids (ALA) available, and milling is the key — whole flax seeds pass through dogs largely undigested, but ground flax unlocks the full nutritional profile. Those omega-3s support a visibly healthier, shinier coat and nourished skin, reduce inflammation throughout the body for better joint health, and strengthen the immune system. Flax is also the world's number-one source of lignans — powerful plant antioxidants that protect cells from oxidative damage. Its combination of soluble and insoluble fiber further supports digestive regularity. Studies on dogs have specifically shown flax supplementation reducing the expression of inflammation-related genes, making it a genuinely science-backed ingredient.

peanut butter

Peanut Butter

Peanut butter is a dog's best friend for good reason — it delivers real nutritional value alongside irresistible flavor. It's a solid source of protein, supporting immune function, cell repair, and the production of hormones and enzymes. Its healthy monounsaturated fats promote growth, support a strong immune system, and contribute to healthy skin and coat. Peanut butter also provides niacin (vitamin B3), vitamin E, and magnesium. Our recipe uses only xylitol-free, no-added-sugar peanut butter — xylitol is highly toxic to dogs, and this is a non-negotiable in every batch we make. Beyond nutrition, peanut butter is simply what makes dogs go absolutely wild for this treat, and palatability matters when you're trying to get functional ingredients into a picky eater.

Molasses

Molasses is our natural sweetener of choice — a byproduct of sugar cane processing that, unlike refined sugar, retains a rich concentration of minerals. It provides iron (essential for healthy red blood cell production and preventing anemia), calcium (for strong bones and teeth), magnesium (supporting nerve and muscle function), potassium (for fluid balance and heart health), and several B vitamins that improve energy metabolism and support healthy skin and coat. It also contains small amounts of polyphenolic antioxidants that support immune health. Used in carefully controlled amounts in our recipe, molasses delivers natural sweetness and depth of flavor that makes Grrranola genuinely crave-worthy — without the empty calories of artificial sweeteners.

Turmeric

Turmeric's active compound, curcumin, is one of the most studied natural anti-inflammatories available for dogs. It works at a cellular level to address chronic low-grade inflammation — a contributing factor in arthritis, digestive disorders, and a range of other canine health conditions. Its powerful antioxidant properties help strengthen the immune system and protect cells from free radical damage. In Grrranola, turmeric plays a quieter role than in our Pumpkin treat — it's not the star of the show, but it's doing meaningful work in the background, adding a functional anti-inflammatory layer to an already nutrient-dense recipe.

Egg

Egg brings the full package — complete protein with all essential amino acids, high bioavailability, omega fatty acids for coat and skin health, and vitamins D, B12, riboflavin, and selenium. In Grrranola, it also plays a structural role, binding oats, peanut butter, and flax together into a cohesive treat without any artificial gums or additives. It's one of the cleanest, most efficient binders available in natural baking, and the fact that it doubles as a complete protein source makes it a no-brainer inclusion.
